My First Post

This is my very first blog post on my personal blog page! Although I’m still working with a great company that outsources blogs to other companies, I thought it might be a good idea to have a blog site of my own.

Writing has been a part of my life since I was a child…okay, how many of you out there have said the same thing? Well, my writing life REALLY began in high school and returned after I had two children and decided I’d like to write for children. I received certification for the Institute of Children’s Literature, published 2 articles in children’s magazines I had never heard of…and then stopped. Life got in the way.

Then I thought about keeping a journal about my mom who passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease…but that was also short lived. (I do have some rather disturbing memories from her battle and will post at another time.)

Then I thought I’d write a children’s book with characters my son drew. It was a clever little story about a dollhouse and these creatures that protected the owner of the dollhouse from something evil….but as I wrote it I began to see the beginning of a Stephen Kingish book and have written 10,000 words of the story-turned-book.

But, I was introduced to blogging by my daughter and a friend on Linked In and thought this might be the ticket – for now.

So, I have several ideas for topics to write about and hope you’ll find them interesting…or maybe they will help you in some way.

1- Chronic Pain

2- Alzheimer’s Disease

3- Crohn’s Disease

4- Depression

5- Life after 60

Notice a pattern there? Most are health related issues and the last one will be me complaining or praising life at 60…haven’t really gotten past 60 yet!

So, thanks for stopping by and I look forward to reading your comments, suggestions, and advice.  Have a nice evening and stay warm!
